A mother with a history. An adopted son who wants one. Set to the teen’s hip-hop beat, their cross-country road trip is a voyage of discovery, identity, understanding, and the depths of love. Can a white mom and a brown son find common ground in their uncommon pasts? Sometimes it’s the journey, not the destination. This hit from TheatreWorks’ 2024 New Works Festival arrives at the MVCPA Second Stage bringing all of its beauty, poetry, and heart to TW’s mainstage season.

Please note: Due to system limitations, we are unable to offer "select your own seats" for MVCPA Second Stage.

SecondStage is an intimate space with thrust style staging, and allows for audience members on three sides. It features bleacher style seating that requires one more steps to reach rows B, C, D, E, and F.
