Description
KICKOFF DINNER AND EVENT
Dinner @ 6:00 PM
Onstage Event @ 8:00PM
Celebrate the start of our 21st annual New Works Festival with dinner, drinks, and the beat box stylings of Carlos Aguirre.
The festivities unfold with an open bar, featuring the NWF signature J. Lohr cocktail. You’ll then dine with this year’s venerable festival playwrights as well as members of the Susan Fairbrook Core Writers Group who you might have recently seen during our Core Writers’ reading. Savor an elegant culinary feast and hear exciting updates for the year ahead.
After dinner, prepare for an unforgettable keynote from Carlos Aguirre (actor, musician, vocal percussionist, educator). Aguirre has been performing and educating in the Bay Area for over 25 years. He has shared the stage with The Roots, Eryka Badu, Black Eyed Peas, Mary J. Blige, Jam Master Jay, L.L.Cool J and has recently been guest starring with Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony Award winning show Freestyle Love Supreme. Aguirre will also perform his original rap and beatbox adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe’s classic poem “The Tell-Tale Heart.”
*Proceeds from the dinner will help support TheatreWorks’ continued operations and programming. A portion of your ticket will be tax-deductible as allowed by law.
KICKOFF EVENT ONLY @ 8:00PM

Skip the dinner and join us at the Lucie Stern Theatre for the onstage event.
